Mars Coat-King Breed Usage Guide

Mars Coat King Breed Usage Guide
Coat-Kings are designed to meet the needs of different kinds of coats, breeds, and meets the grooming need of all areas of the body. This tool is designed to remove loose hair even the grooming of thick undercoats. Use it for dematting after a day in the field or for unraveling. The recommendations on this page are not conclusive. If you find something that works with your breed than use it as many groomers both home and professional are finding unique ways to use the coat kings with different breeds.
Always pull the coat-king in the direction of the hair growth, do not go against the grain or cross it. You should only need to use this grooming tool once a week.
Special Considerations
- The medium to coarse blade, the greater the ability to deal with the undercoat and thinning of coat
- Fine styles are great for finish work
- For soft or longer coats, more blades the better
- Very short coats, more blades with the smallest gaps between
- For large breeds consider the double wide coat kings recommended by breed to speed grooming up
- Consider the #40814 or #41510 for close work around the face and head and some leg areas
- In general one blade can be satisfactory for all areas of the coat depending on your grooming desire
- Cats - Can use 12 up to 26 blades from fine to coarse blades
General Considerations
- Course and Medium blades 6-12 blades
[Preparation work, thinning of coat]
- Fine blades 16-20 blades
[Grooming of heavy coats]
- Super Fine 20-26 blades
[Finish work, thick shaggy coats]
- Double-Wide 18,23,30 blades
[Large breeds, Coarse, medium, fine and super-fine]
